Students focusing on Peace Studies as a primary
area should take 21 hours from the approved list of classes in this area
as listed below.
Students are required to take PSCI 3500 Introduction to Peace Studies.
In addition, the students should take at least 3 hours in each of the
following three areas:
Determinants of Violence
Conflict Management
Issues of Justice
Students will select the remaining 9 hours from the list of the approved
courses in any of the 3 sub-areas of Peace Studies or other approved Peace
Studies electives. Students are strongly encouraged to take internships
to fulfill part of the 9 elective hours. The approved courses for each
sub-area are as follows:
Determinants of Violence

Practicum in any other field (e.g., PSCI 3910; SOCI 4920; ECON 4920; ANTH
4920) where the experience has been approved by the Director of the Peace
Studies Program or the Director of International Studies, and appropriate
Special Project classes as approved by the Director.
