Application Process for New Internships

The following information applies to new internships which are not approved by and are not yet part of the International Studies Major list of internships.

The process for a new internship is much more complicated, and persons seeking those placements need to have made arrangements for the internship according to the following deadlines.

All materials must be completed and turned in to the Intern Coordinator not later than:

- March 1 (for Summer I & Summer II)

- July 1 (for Fall)

- November 1 (for Spring)

The supervisor at the internship placement must submit a job description to the Intern Coordinator according to the above dates. Under no circumstances will a new internship be approved within 6 weeks of the internship beginning date.

Credit cannot be given retroactively, nor can you receive credit for placements that are considered to be employment (jobs for wages as opposed to jobs for experience).

Under some circumstances students may receive wages, as well as internship credit, but the Department of Political Science-Undergraduate Studies committee will have to approve of these in advance.
