The American Association of University Women was established in 1882 to "open doors of higher education to women." The Denton Branch, AAUW, will award four scholarships in the amount of $800 each for an academic year. One undergraduate and one graduate scholarship will be awarded to students from TWU, and one undergraduate and one graduate scholarship will be awarded to students from UNT.
Eligibility for Consideration Be a U.S. Citizen. Be a full-time junior or senior undergraduate or graduate student. from a specified major and degree plan. Have a 3.0 GPA (undergraduate) or 3.5 (graduate). Have never had an AAUW scholarship Submit application by April 30. Attend one dinner meeting of the Denton Branch, AAUW, in the fall, to meet the members.
Procedures The two scholarship recipients will be informed prior to the end of the spring semester. The sum of $400 will be given to each recipient during registration for the fall semester; and $400 during registration for the spring semester. The students must complete the semester or return the money (see contract).
Applications Applications must be postmarked no later than April 30, to be considered.
